Spring 2008

Last weekend, I made it a point to actually go out for a walk and take my camera since the weather was so nice. I meant to post these during the week, but project week gets pretty insane for me and I’ve had a complete absence of free time.

I think this may be the first proper photo post I’ve made all year.

This is Hansee Hall, the building where I live:

The magnolias by the music building are starting to bloom:

The trees at the south end of the quad are in bloom. The cherry trees on the quad itself have yet to open, but their branches are heavy with buds and will be blooming in just a few days.

The trees near More Hall were one of the first things to start blooming on campus, so they’re definitely at their peak now.

I’ve photographed this view of the EE building more times than I’ve counted, but it just looks so neat with the blue sky and light clouds behind it.

While walking around the old nuclear reactor building (which is now completely empty and looks like it’s about ready to be knocked down) Brad and I noticed this switch. It was apparently for the intercom one would use if one wanted to be let in while it was operating, but it was just amusing to see a switch on the outside of the building labeled “Nuclear Reactor” as if it controlled the reactor itself.

The old laser sign was on the back doors of the building.

There we go. I’ve actually updated Ordered Pixels with some photos. Maybe, if we’re lucky and the stars align correctly, you’ll see some more from me before I graduate.

This cake is not a lie.

On Saturday evening, while taking a break from homeworking and the labs, I utilized the kitchen in Brad’s apartment and baked a cake:

It was quite tasty.
