Circuitry
July 29th, 2007 by BrianOne of the old computers in my collection is an original Macintosh, back from 1984. Unfortunately, it’s nonfunctional and won’t start up due to a bad power supply/high voltage board. I picked up an old, relatively beat-up Mac SE (slightly newer than the original Mac, but still sharing the same general design and a lot of the same components on the analog board) intending to cannibalize it for parts to repair the original Mac.
This summer I finally got around to pulling the case off of it and taking out the analog board so that I could start repairing the old Mac.
(Note that this is on the more technical side of the articles I usually post here. Some of my readers will appreciate the technical details, some will enjoy just looking at the cool pictures of computer hardware, and some may just want to skip this one.)
