This would be really cool for us laptop users if they’ve really accomplished this…

Drenched

When I left for class this morning, it was windy and a bit cloudy, but it was dry, so I wore my regular jacket, not my raincoat. That was a big mistake.

12:30: There were no tables available in the HUB today, not even for one person. Fortunately, the Allen Center is close by. The WiFi access there is nicer anyway. As I ate, it was still windy and the sun was even out for a bit.

1:15: I head out for my 1:30 Math section over in Ballmer Hall–way across campus. It was just starting to rain. The pavement was still mostly dry, but the sky was dark and foreboding.

1:18: I’ve passed the EE building, starting to walk by the fountain. The rain is coming down pretty hard now, and at an angle greater than 60 degrees. I’m starting to get soaked.

1:19: I’ve passed the fountain now, walking between Johnson and Mary Gates up towards Red Square. There’s now hail coming down along with the heavy rain.

1:21: As I step onto Red Square, the heavy rain becomes torrential. No longer able to see very well (or feel my ears) I take refuge inside Suzallo and watch Red Square turn into a river.

1:28: I decide the rain has subsided enough for me to make it back to my room (I decided I was too soaking wet to go straight to class) and head back out. It’s still coming down pretty hard, but the hail has stopped and it’s not so hard to see anymore.

1:30: Thunder and lightning begin…

1:35 I reach my room, put on some dry clothes, dump the water out of my shoes, grab my raincoat…

1:40: I leave McMahon and start heading towards Ballmer. The sky is blue and the sun is shining.

1:50: I get to class, twenty minutes late.

Now, here I am, back at the Allen Center. And guess what? It’s getting darker again. Looks like it might do the exact same thing about the time I’ll be heading to Physics.

Windy

radar It sure is windy this morning. It has been since about 6am and hasn’t really let up since.

I checked to see the radar to see if rain might be coming. Heh, I’d say that’s a yes, no matter what direction the wind is coming from.

It will probably start coming down hard about the time I need to trek across campus to take my CSE final. That will be fun.

Supposed to be thunderstorms later, I guess.
